Star is 2.

It snowed the night she was born, bringing a little magic with her as she drew her first breath. From that moment, our lives have been never been the same.

Looking just like her daddy, her curly hair, those blue green eyes, and her full lips, she has this ability to light up a room. But her heart is a reflection of her mama. She is strong and fierce, yet filled with compassion. She is happiest when she brings a smile to your face, and her laughter spreads joy throughout the walls of our home. She is strong-willed and independent, only pushing harder and further when she is told no. She is smart and expressive, always seeking to learn. And she is kind.

Her gentle hands cup my face as she studies my eyes and tells me her latest story. Her sweet lips gently kiss her sister, as she plays on the floor. And her little hands fit perfectly inside her daddy's big hands, following him through her next adventure.

Her sparkle brought light to my life on it's darkest days. Her spirit has strengthened our marriage. And her heart has exposed the depths of my soul. She challenges me and pushes me to reach for more. She encourages me to laugh longer and love harder. She reminds me of my need for patience and understanding. And each time I get lost in her eyes, I see a constant reminder of God's unending love and faithfulness.

Life with her is magic, and each day brings it's own sweet sparkle. Happy Birthday, Little Star!

"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you...ever in the world. For never before in a story or rhyme (not even once upon a time) has the world ever known you, my friend, and it never will, not ever again...Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn on the wonderful, marvelous night you were born." -Nancy Tillman
